Crayton Billboard

Northwestern Oklahoma State University Foundation and Alumni Association have developed a billboard to publicize its outstanding alums. The billboard went up recently on the west side of Interstate-35 about two miles south of the Kansas-Oklahoma border and can be read traveling southbound. Janet Valencia, Northwestern Printing Services Coordinator, designed the billboard.

The billboard will stay up for one year and after six months the alum being honored will change. Patrick Crayton, a 2004 graduate and current Dallas Cowboys’ wide receiver, is the featured alum on the billboard. Crayton is pictured in his Cowboys uniform with a quote that reads, “Northwestern was everything to me.” Dr. Jim Claflin, an allergist in Oklahoma City and one of Northwestern’s outstanding alumni, is the first sponsor of the billboard.

The Foundation and Alumni Office is currently looking for another sponsor for a billboard to go up somewhere between the Enid and Edmond exits on I-35.

“We want to get the word out that a degree from Northwestern equals success,” Skeeter Bird, Northwestern Foundation Executive Director, said.

“We have so many alums that are doing incredible things and we felt this was a great way to not only promote the university but also acknowledge the accomplishments of out past, present, and future Rangers,” Bird said.
