Barker Feature
The
mention of Jim and Patty Barker anywhere within the Northwestern family
perks ears and turns heads. Whether it is because you have read Jim’s “Sports
Spasms” in the Alva Review-Courier or you’ve caught yourself
in a warm conversation with Patty, the Barkers make you feel comfortable
to be a Ranger. Maybe it is their long family history in Alva and Northwestern
that has brought you to cross paths with this couple. No matter the
instance, Jim and Patty have made it possible for many future Rangers
to not only keep their heartfelt legacy intact but to keep the Northwestern
legacy thriving.

Bixler Donation
In

basketball games. He was a three-year Ranger at the forward position
working toward a teaching degree and hoping to one day coach. In 1970
he graduated with a Bachelor of Science and in 1974 got his Master of
Education degree, and it was off to a career of teaching and coaching
in Kansas and Texas respectively. More

of the Kansas-Oklahoma border and can be read traveling southbound. Janet
Valencia, Northwestern Printing Services Coordinator, designed the billboard. More
